Mini GaN 5 Maturing well!
As I have been listening I observed several attributes, one of which was that these babies showed how excellent they are with the best recordings, so I have purchased at least 20 more albums to critique them and enjoy them. Treble. Sweet, extended, fast, as the amplifier has matured all these characteristics have improved, just with better separation, extension and placement in space. Class D can sound thin and gritty, none of that here, even poor recorded records remain listenable.
the mini 5 is a superbly clear amp, you can hear the speed, the openness, ultra low distortion, the excellent image it throws, wide and fairly deep, locates instruments quite well, nice timbral purity and excellent bass control - the treble is especially clean and impressive, it is clean without stridency - no typical class ab type of hardness, minimal grain here, very impressive in this regard - it is also very dynamic, the black background allow notes to hang in the air, and leading edges are exceptionally clean and expansion of loudness in music happens effortlessly
I was stunned at how great it sounds. I think everybody should have at least one, just to realize how stupid equipment prices have become. This amp needs to bow before no one in my opinion, it really does sound that good.
I'm loving what this little amp has done for the sound. The control that it has over the speakers is just amazing. The first thing that struck me was the clarity and slam on all instruments. The music feels tight and clear, with nice soundstage depth and width. The scale of the sound is huge, and I'm enjoying listening to my CD collection again.
This mighty little amplifier us astounding! I moved up to this amplifier from a $5000 class ab amp. The detail and soundstage is breathtaking! Plenty of robust power for my Martin Logan's. Wow!
Bravo! Well done team! I have just spent 20min with this amp and I am already in love! Vast beautiful detailed and layered sound and more power than I imagined. I am seriously flabbergasted that this puts 100lb monster amps to shame! Wow!
